COVID-19 has been ruthless. Its impact on the most vulnerable people in communities across the GTA is devastatingand it will be for a very long time.

Gabor, who used to sleep on a park bench when he first arrived in Canada, connected with a United Way-funded agency and went on to find a job and stable housing. But then COVID-19 hit and it changed everything. He started getting less work and the relative stability hed found for himself and his young family began slipping away.

During COVID-19, United Way has been instrumental in bringing community agencies and local government together, identifying gaps, and making sure money goes where its most needed. Making sure that the most vulnerable among usseniors, people who regularly go hungry, those experiencing homelessness, and Gaborare supported and provided for.

United Way has never needed your help more than they do right now.

Because of caring people just like us, United Way is able to invest in a network of 280 frontline community agencies, helping them remain strong and resilient, now and years from now. This year it will take $105 million for United Way to sustain their investment in the community and fuel vital recovery efforts.
