Story
Ushaw exists to provide a place where people can come together - to work, rest and play.
We care for, protect and develop the amazing buildings, gardens and collections in our care and provide an inspiring programme of activities for people of all ages to explore and enjoy heritage and culture. And that's not all, we're also a hub for local creative businesses and practitioners and run a thriving volunteer programme.
Since closing on 18 March, the financial impact upon Ushaw has been significant. We've stopped all our activities and secured our buildings to keep everyone and everything safe. As a result, we have lost our vital income.
We know that this is a shared experience and we're not alone in needing support, but if you can help and donate today, we would be very grateful.
Donations of any size will make a real difference to Ushaw and help to secure our future by helping us with essential running costs and providing us with support to develop new adapted activities for everyone to enjoy safely upon reopening.
Until then, our spacious grounds remain open and available for all to safely enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. We can't wait to see you again soon, take care and stay safe.
