Story
The staff at Usborne Publishing have supported Shooting Star Children's Hospices since 2019 and while working from home throughout the COVID-19 pandemic they remain determined to raise vital funds at this critical time.
COVID-19 has already had a devastating impact on the delivery of Shooting Star Children's Hospices' vital services. They have had to take the difficult decision of closing one of their hospices and have reduced the level of care that they can currently provide. The virus has also left them with no choice but to close their retail shops and the cancelling of fundraising events has had a huge impact on their fundraising income. They are predicting a shortfall of more than £2million as a result of COVID-19, so now more than ever they're relying on the generosity of the public to help them to pull through, so your donation really does mean the world to them.
The physical, mental and emotional support Shooting Star Children's Hospices gave us and our family is out of this world. They prepared us for the inevitable and we are as strong as can be because of them. Jack had a life because of the hospice and we thank them for the seven days we got to spend with our baby as a family. Kirsty, Jack's Mum.
