Teams of staff, students, alumni and friends are invited to take part to raise money for the Equal Opportunity Fund at the University of Sheffield.

All students should have the chance to thrive in the right career. However, certain features of the graduate labour market can favour people from more privileged backgrounds. So, for those from underrepresented, low-income backgrounds, gaining relevant employment experience is vital for them to have the best chance to succeed post university.

Funded entirely by our generous donors, the Equal Opportunities Fund (EOF) empowers these students to overcome the financial barriers in the way of employability-related opportunities . From train fares to professional clothing - what may seem like minor expenses for some, can be the difference in securing valuable experience for others.

The EOF is already having a huge impact on eligible students, but we need your help to go further. Many talented students are still facing financial barriers to succeed - by supporting them today, you could help them to achieve their dreams.
