Story
Coronavirus is the biggest global crisis for children since World War Two.
6,000 children could die every day in the next six months as coronavirus weakens national health systems and disrupts vital services.
The impact of a large-scale outbreak on children, especially poor and vulnerable children, has been immense. Coronavirus threatens children already weakened by war, disease, hunger and poverty, whose very survival depends on health care, life-saving food, clean water and medical supplies. New research shows that 1.2 million children could die over the next six months due to the reduction of services thats a staggering 6000 children a day.
Unicef has been working closely with governments and the World Health Organization (WHO) since the start of the coronavirus outbreak. Your donations will help to limit the spread of the virus, protect keyworkers, and reduce the impact on some of the worlds most vulnerable children and families.
Just £30 could provide a full kit to protect a health-worker, including boots, gloves, masks and coveralls to help make sure that health workers are protected in situations where they may be at risk, while £45.50 could help provide an emergency hygiene and water kit to help protect a whole family.
We urgently need funds to expand the scale and scope of our work, especially in countries with weaker health systems.
By fundraising or donating to our Save Generation Covid appeal today, you can help provide vital support and supplies to children impacted by coronavirus around the world
