The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileFor over 30 years, Children in Distress has cared for children and young adults In Eastern Europe in the most difficult moments of life. We have provided lifesaving medical and social care in Ukraine, Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, and Croatia. In the past two decades our service has focused primarily on Romania.
Now in Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of children and mothers are being forced to flee the war. Recent reports state that of the 1.7 million refugees, half of them are children. Though some are accompanied by their mothers, the distress and suffering inflicted on them is unimaginable.
Now is the time for us to act together.
In partnership with other charities, Children In Distress plan to travel to the Romanian border city of Isaccea. (Tulcea County) near Odessa, one the of the main cities the Russian army is advancing toward. Once in Tulcea, we plan to ship supplies across the border into Ukraine, distribute supplies for those at the border, and transport refugees to Bucharest where shelters have been and are being constructed.
The funds raised by you and Children In distress will provide:
Medicines

First aid
Baby care products (powdered milk, baby food, wet wipes, nappies,)
