Help us save lives when crisis strikes.
Born of the NHS, UK-Med has been working for over 20 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit. Major disease outbreaks, the growing climate crisis, and long wars are creating a global health emergency that affects us all. Crises take lives, separate families, and devastate communities. And, too often, the worlds poorest are the hardest hit. When services are overwhelmed, we get expert health staff to where they're needed fast. We also work with communities to ensure they are prepared for future crises.
2020 year was a year like no other for us all. We found ourselves fighting the pandemic in some of the most challenging situations imaginable - from war-torn Yemen's damaged hospitals, to Beirut where facilities were overwhelmed following last Augusts blast that ripped through the city. We responded to calls for assistance in thirteen countries, trained over 3000 health staff and worked alongside local colleagues on the COVID-19 frontline. Our support reached tens of thousands of patients. In 2021, our work continues.
When disasters hit, speed can save lives, and its thanks to our incredible supporters that we can get a team out of the door and on the ground quickly. This July, a team of UK-Med supporters will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to help us do just that- get expert health staff where they're needed fast, and save lives.
