Story
UJIA WOMEN is proud to launch its first annual 'On the Trail' challenge on International Women's Day, 8 March 2020. It's a wonderful opportunity for women across the country to come together to influence the future of women and children in Israel.
The sponsorship YOU raise will support Al Sanabel, a catering social enterprise in the Negev region of Israel, making nutritional and healthy school meals for around 3,000 disadvantaged school children who live below the poverty line often its their only daily opportunity to have a hot meal.
Originally established to provide employment for women in the Negev Bedouin community of Hura, UJIA was instrumental in helping Al Sanabel to expand, by supporting a second catering facility in the Jewish area of Migdal HaEmek in the north of Israel, working with disadvantaged orthodox Jewish women.
The impact of the Al Sanabel project is huge: it provides training and employment, together with a professional, empowering work environment and personal support for unemployed, single mothers who live on the fringes of society.
UJIA is now helping Al Sanabel to develop and grow, diversify its catering supplies, create 55 more jobs for women and over 300 jobs for sub-contractors from the southern area of Israel.
On behalf of UJIA Women, a huge 'thank-you' for your support.
