The University of Illinois Habitat for Humanity campus chapter will be hosting their second annual Build-A-Thon Event on Saturday, April 18th @ 2:00 PM - Sunday, April 19th @ 10:00 AM on the South Quad. Build-a-Thon (BAT) is an overnight, one-of-a-kind fundraising and advocacy event. In the months leading up to the event, teams of up to 5 students will race to raise as much money as possible by Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 for our student chapter and local Champaign County Habitat affiliate. On Saturday, April 18th, all of the teams will come together to build the wildest, innovative, and structurally sound shacks they can to stay in overnight. The experience will provide a glimpse into what people living in substandard housing conditions have to endure on a day-to-day basis. The more your team fundraises, the more materials and supplies you receive to build!Shacks will be judged on multiple criteria (i.e. creativity, structural stability, aesthetic). Prizes for the best shacks and the most funds raised will be awarded! Food and entertainment will be provided throughout the event. This event is meant to fundraise for the Champaign County Habitat for Humanity and to raise awareness for the need of affordable and accessible housing. All proceeds will go towards building student-sponsored Habitat homes in our community. Sign your team up today! Fundraising Tiers

1. Raise the minimum ($150) and receive:

- 2 pieces of plywood (4' x 8')

- 5 studs (2" x 4" x 8')

2. Raise $250 and receive:

- 3 pieces of plywood (4' x 8')

- 6 studs (2" x 4" x 8')

- A tarp

3. Raise $400 and receive:

- 4 pieces of plywood (4' x 8')

- 7 studs (2" x 4" x 8')

- A tarp

Remember a team can have a MAX of 5 people!

Creating Team:

- Click start fundraising

- Create account through facebook or google

- Choose the optional settings for you fundraising page, then click create your page

- Then click Create a team on the fundraising page

- Choose team name and click Lets go

- Then Click Continue

- Personalize team story if you want, then click Continue or Skip

- Set team fundraising target as $150, personalize team url, and then click Create your team

- Invite team members through the invite link

Joining a team:

- Use team link to go to team page

- Accept the invite

- Create an account

Joining as an Individual:

- Click start fundraising

- Create account through facebook or google

- Choose the optional settings for you fundraising page, then click create your page
