Story
UCP Giving Month - November 2018
Raymond's face says it all - he really enjoys dancing. The expression on his face conveys warmth and joy that we at UCP of SLO County consistently aim to cultivate. Our programs, events and activities offer a unique opportunity for individuals with disabilities to meet and engage with the San Luis Obispo County community in a way that promotes inclusion and full participation. Our belief is that people with disabilities should live a "Life Without Limits" and programs that we offer embody the UCP Philosophies of: Enjoyment, Expression, Connections, and Community that create circumstances that allow the obvious joy and warmth on their faces. Raymond is enjoying himself and expressing that joy. He's making an important connection with Brenda and their shared experience is creating a sense of community for all who were involved in that event on that evening. For more than 30 years, we at UCP of SLO County, have had a very unique opportunity to witness moments such as this; where kindness, caring and intention create very poignant moments of connections and where everybody involved becomes suddenly aware of their larger sense of community. We invite you to view the photos attached below and witness other moments like these. Every photo tells a story. You can find these stories on our website at www.ucp-slo.org.
We'd like to ask you to join us in creating more moments like this. November is UCP Giving Month and we are asking you for a generous $25 donation. $25 allows Raymond and others like him to participate in UCP Leisure Clubs, in CIP Tours, in Teens Clubs, in Camp Kelley Creek, in receiving the "Gift of Technology", in Music Clubs, in Ranch Workdays, and many more events and activities from UCP of SLO County.
