SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE IN KHERSON REGION
Following Russian withdrawal from Kherson city, life continues to be tough and dangerous. Through our tried and trusted network, we are deploying help where it is needed most. Since Spring 2022, we have been supporting:
- a church who provide food & medical supplies to the most needy villagers
- a cooking group who provide meals for those who have no other hot meal
- food & medicines for small family orphanages, disadvantaged families and disabled children
The above church started a rebuilding project, to help make flood or war damaged homes of elderly or needy villagers liveable once more. UCP is providing funding for this.
SUPPORT FOR THE WESTERN UKRAINIAN VILLAGES WE HAVE SERVED SINCE 2004
We support a rural hardship fund which helps villagers (particularly elderly and sick) who are struggling to cope financially due to the war. Last spring we funded the supply of seeds to 370 families and villagers we met on our summer visit were very pleased with their harvest. We recently purchased firewood to help villagers through the winter. We also funded 300 ‘shoebox-style’ Christmas presents for children.
