Story
The 12th annual Montclair Bikery Turkey Ride will benefit the Human Needs Food Pantry, which services residents in Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield and many surrounding towns. The Pantry gives out over 1000 turkeys at Thanksgiving to its clients, along with all the other fixings for a Thanksgiving meal. Over the last 11 years, the Turkey Ride has collected over 4,500 turkeys and raised $270,000 for the Human Needs Food Pantry.
In 2024, food costs are up 26% and the number of households the Pantry serves is up 39% vs. year ago. We need your help more than ever to address food insecurity in our area.

Join Us!
The 15 mile bike ride will take place Sunday morning, November 24, 2024 at 10 am. Registration opens at 9 am. Pre-registration is highly encouraged here: Turkey Ride Registration
The Turkey Ride will leave from the Montclair Bikery (148 Valley Road, Montclair). Cyclists will ride a circular route from there to the Brookdale Shoprite (1409 Broad Street, Bloomfield). Riders will buy a frozen turkey, and then carry it in their backpacks to the Human Needs Food Pantry (9 Label Street, Montclair) for drop off. For those who want to buy more than one turkey, there are vans that will take the extras back to the Pantry. A festive thank you party for the Turkey Ride participants takes place at Egans restaurant next to the Pantry after the turkeys are dropped off.
Anyone 16 and older can participate in the Turkey Ride. Riders between the ages of 13 and 17 can participate with an accompanying adult. Bicycles, tandems, electric bikes and unicycles are all allowed!
Support the Turkey Ride by Donating Here!
This fundraising page allows anyone to donate to the event. All proceeds will be used to purchase turkeys and all of the necessary side dishes for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. A $21 donation funds one turkey, $42 donation funds two turkeys, and a $63 donation funds three turkeys! Our goal is to collect 600 turkeys this year!
Donate and share with friends and family - on social media or through email.
Not riding but have a turkey to donate?
Community members can drop off frozen turkeys at the Human Needs Food Pantry on Sunday, November 24th. We are also collecting other Thanksgiving foods, including instant mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, pie crust mix and filling!
Help us make this the BIGGEST Turkey Ride yet! Thank you for your support!
