This January the whole Crowdcube team are coming together to travel Around the CC Offices in 30 Days and kick off the year with a positive impact - supporting the survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery.
The plan: Were aiming to get active for the same amount of time that it would take us to walk to each of the CC offices (London, Cardiff, Exeter, Barcelona) and back to London! We calculated that's 513 hours in total.
Our goal: To raise £5,000 to support TRIBE Freedom Foundation and help cover the running costs of one of the TRIBE Freedom Foundation-funded survivor safehouses for a month.
Why?
Today, 187 years since Britain passed the Abolition of Slavery Act, more than 40 million people are living in modern slavery worldwide and an estimated 136,000 people are exploited within the UK at any one time .
TRIBE Freedom Foundation is on a mission to fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. They work by raising awareness of trafficking, supporting survivors and enabling frontline projects to prevent modern slavery. They empower communities to create an impact.
The current pandemic has also put more adults and children who are already in, or vulnerable to modern slavery, at even higher risk of exploitation. So, right now, your support could not be more important.
Together, we go further and faster to end modern slavery.
