Peak District Fundraising Walk

Organised by ArRahma Foundation

Many regulars to our Masjid, young and old, travel here by bike but are forced to make use of awkward, unsheltered railings to lock up. Instead, we would like to promote this beneficial habit by providing a new and secure all-round bike shelter.

ArRahma Foundation is a non-profit community organisation and a UK registered charity. It aims to empower Muslims with the skills and confidence to live Islam, face the challenges of the modern world and make a positive and meaningful contribution to the wider society.

Story

Many People, regulars and non-regulars to our Masjid, young and old, travel here by bike but are forced to make use of awkward, unsheltered railings to lock up. Instead, we would like to promote this beneficial habit by providing a new and secure all-round bike shelter.

Hence Masjid Eesa Bin Maryam is glad to announce our Bike Stand Appeal, with a vision to become more cycle-friendly and reduce traffic congestion. The 29th of August 2020 features our first fundraising activity- a hike in the popular and scenic Peak District Dovedale trail(men only).

Each participant is given a target to raise £100 using either the sponsorship forms provided or by setting up a Just Giving page connected to our team fundraising page(instructions have been given below). Twenty such donations will enable us to cover the costs of galvanising, delivery and assembly for a 10 bike space shelter.

All above the age of 12 are welcome to register. Please sponsor our hikers to help motivate our young Muslims to spend time in the Masjid regularly and independently. InshaAllah this will be a Saddaqa Jarriya for many years to come. To set up a Just Giving page linked to main campaign page:

1. Look for the heading 'Be a Fundraiser'

2. Click on Start Fundraising. (if you do not have a just giving account you will be prompted to set one up at this stage)

3. You will be directed to a page with some content filled in. You can edit this to personalise for yourself and for your sponsors.

4. once happy with your page, save and publish. you will be given a link which you can send to all your sponsors,
