Transitions LifeCare cares for individuals and families with compassion, support, and expertise as they navigate the end of life or life-changing illness. We believe everyone deserves access to the right care for them at the right time. Your support helps us keep our promise to provide quality and compassionate care to everyone who needs us, no matter what.
The first $10,000 we receive toward our 2024 Giving Tuesday Campaign will be matched dollar for dollar by Lane & Louise Miller! Double your impact with a donation before midnight on Giving Tuesday, December 3 so we can reach even more of our neighbors in 2024. Thank you!
We support Transitions LifeCare because compassionate care at the end of life is just as important as the care received at the beginning of life. To be able to assist a dying person and their family is a sacred moment. - Lane & Louise Miller
In February of 2023 Donna Pittman’s mother, Deniece Helmlinger, was admitted to Transitions LifeCare’s Hospice services at her assisted living facility. That April, when her pain and symptoms were too much to manage and required round the clock nursing, she was transferred to the William M. Dunlap Center for caring, Transitions LifeCare’s inpatient hospice home. Donna shares how the Transitions LifeCare Hospice team helped her mom and family during a difficult time:
Our Mom, Deniece Helmlinger, was admitted to Transitions after being in unbearable pain. I cannot begin to describe the comfort and peace our whole family found while she was there. Everyone including staff and volunteers became a part of our family. Even over a year later I am still amazed at the respect and honor they showed our Mother. From the minute she was transferred to Transitions, she was comfortable and in constant care. The Transitions family became our family. We love them all and are so very grateful! - Donna Pittman, Owner, Flowers on Broad in Fuquay Varina
As the owner of Flowers on Broad Street in Fuquay Varina, Donna Pittman was inspired by her mother to give back to the community. In addition to supporting the Girls on the Run program, Donna also gives back to Transitions LifeCare. Through the purchase of the “Rainbow of Love” arrangement, a portion of proceeds are donated back to Transitions LifeCare to help support our mission to care for individuals and families with compassion, support, and expertise as they navigate the end of life or life-changing illness, regardless of financial circumstance.
Your donation helps us provide whatever a family needs as they face severe illness or end of life. For example:
$500: one week of personal care and attention from a hospice aide
$200: one day of overnight respite care for caregivers
$125: one home visit from a hospice nurse in the middle of the night
$75: one grief counseling session provided free of charge
