Story

Tracey and James would like to Spread Some Sunshine in celebration of their Big Day on 29 June 2019.

PLEASE add GiftAid if you are a UK Tax Payer! It costs you NOTHING but gives us 25% more!! :-)

Seeing the Wakawaka lights charging on the roofs of the compounds and then meeting the people whose lives have been radically changed by having free, safe light after sundown; women who can take care of their babies, businesses that can continue to operate and most poignantly, the kids who can study safely, without breathing in the fumes of kerosene or having to wait until they can afford a candle... priceless!

£15 buys a light that will serve around 9 people for at least 10 Years!! £500 provides safe, free light for around 300 people for 10 years! £1500, nearly 1000 people! etc... With even more we can build a classroom!! then visit us on Facebook.

www.Dance2Learn.org was set up in 2007 by Mei Catherall as a charitable company under the umbrella of www.iSource.org.uk to raise money to improve the school lives of the pupils at Jamisa Basic School in Brikama, Gambia whilst promoting dance and a feeling of community spirit here in the united Kingdom. This project has seen water & electricity brought in to the school and initiated a twinning with a school in the UK. We continued to support the growth of the library and were kept informed by the Deputy headmaster, Mr Badjie, on developments. With your help, the school has made tremendous leaps in the education league table in The Gambia. Since this initial project, D2L have been involved in helping the WHO to eradicate malaria through fund-raising to provide mosquito nets (and training as to their proper use) to Africa where a child dies every 35.8 seconds from this preventable disease. Our latest project is to provide WakaWaka Solar Lighting to students and needy, working with "The Gunjur Project" so that they are able to carry on the good work.
