Story
Tour de Kernow Ultra - 300km
There is also an option to ride the first half of the route approx 150km. Penzance Wheelers have teamed up with The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity - using a similar route to the * Pedals4Patients event in September - to offer cyclists the chance to ride the Tour de Kernow route in one day!
Starting from Wheal Jane at 4.00am please make sure you have lights!
The route will take cyclists out to St Ives, Lands End, back into Penzance via Mousehole - then across to Helston, Gweek onto Penryn. Past close to the start HQ before crossing the Fal via the King Harry Ferry over to Goran Haven and St Austell. The route then cuts across to Bodmin, Padstow and skirts the coast over to Mawgan Porth then back inland towards Ladock then across to Shortlanesend, Threemilestone and back to Wheal Jane.
187 miles / 300 km with at least 12,775 feet of climbing
Based on Audax pacing we would expect riders to complete the ride within 20 hours.
