Christmas can be a difficult time of year, particularly for older people living alone without close family. Help us to spread Christmas cheer by delivering gifts to socially isolated older people in our communities.
Torus has over 11,000 older tenants who live on their own in Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington, and over 1,400 of these are aged 80 or over. Older people living alone in social housing are disproportionately affected by poverty, ill-health and loneliness, and without the Torus Christmas Campaign, some of these people would not otherwise receive any gifts over the festive period.
Through our 2024 Christmas Campaign we are aiming to hand-deliver Christmas Gifts to 500 older people living in Torus homes during December.
Last year, the generous support from Torus group suppliers, local businesses and individual supporters allowed us to deliver presents to 507 vulnerable older people, and we’re aiming to spread the Christmas cheer again this year, with colleagues already identifying older people who would benefit from receiving a gift through this campaign.
