The Topaz Team are part of our highly respected Maternity case loading team, based at Hillingdon Hospital. They support mothers with additional social and psychological needs throughout their pregnancy and postnatal period enabling them and their baby to feel safe and to not have to deal with issues alone. The Team caseload their care enabling mothers to feel confident and supported throughout the antenatal period and once baby is born.

All the women in their care need specialist support. They come from varying social backgrounds and the challenges they face include social deprivation, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol issues, refugee or asylum status, teenagers who are unsupported and often isolated.

Mothers are under the Team will remain under the care of Topaz, from pregnancy to postnatal. They will assist them once delivered and signpost them to other support services. The NHS is unable to provide essentials for these vulnerable mothers. As a team they have been previously been able to fundraise in the hospital by way of bake sales and the like in order to provide some of these essentials. However with the current Covid situation they have been unable to do this and have been relying on donations from other sources.
