Story
The innovative Tonic Rider programme promotes good mental health in the music industry by providing free training and support to music industry professionals, both remotely and at venues.
Many people working in the music industry experience mental health issues. They can be brought on by the highs and the lows, the touring, the late nights, and the lifestyle. The industry can be volatile and competitive, with no financial security. This leaves music industry professionals vulnerable to developing mental health issues.
Tonic Rider addresses this by providing mental health-related training and support, tailored to the music industry. Our training and support include a Peer Support Group, Mental Health First Aid training, mental health guides, Tonic stands at festivals and events, and various other groups, workshops and courses.
By supporting Tonic Rider, you will be joining us on our mission to promote good mental health in the music industry.
Testimonials
Thank you Tonic Rider for everything that you do for our industry. I participated in one of the Peer Support Groups and the community and camaraderie was amazing.
Having completed six sessions of the Tonic Rider Peer Support Group, I have found the experience to be of great value, both personally and professionally.
Ive attended two courses to date the Acceptance Commitment Therapy workshop and the Mental Health Awareness in the Music Industry course and I highly recommend them.
The music industry has many artists that suffer from depression and other issues. There is a stigma around mental health and Tonic help to challenge this and raise awareness that is why I give them my full support and backing.
Tonic is dedicated to the mental wellbeing of people in my industry. It is run by lovely, caring and inspiring people who will help anyone who needs it, at any time. Im indebted to them personally when Ive reached a low point. And in times like these you are sometimes left alone with just your mind for a long time, which can be very difficult for a lot of people. Reach out. They will help. And thats why I support them.
I think anything that brings mental health to the fore, makes people more aware, and opens up a discussion has got to be a good thing. Tonic is a great project.
Being amongst a group of peers from all walks of the entertainment world, who were all so open and honest, was incredible. We all bonded very quickly, and over the six weeks that the Peer Support Group ran, we became a tight-knit group. I looked forward to seeing them all every week.
