Story
Dear Friend,
In the midst of these unprecedented times, I'm grateful to share exciting news with you that has the potential to create a powerful, ongoing impact in the lives of TNA students.
To inspire our friends to make a gift for our students between July 1 and August 31, The Jack Buncher Foundation is graciously offering a $25,000 Challenge Grant to match your donation dollar-for-dollar to us during this time of need.
As you know, our students are determined not only to overcome obstacles in their personal journeys, but are ardently focused on achieving educational success at TNA in their own unique ways. To chase their dreams, and develop into a person of character, our students believe that being accepted to college is the first step. They are the living proof of our mission, breaking the cycle of generational poverty through education and preparing our students for college and citizenship.
Our largest graduating class, 18 seniors were honored on May 29 in a virtual graduation celebration followed by a parade of faculty and cars to each seniors home where diplomas and speeches were delivered, videos were taken, all while family and friends celebrated alongside our accomplished seniors. Our seniors received acceptance letters to 43 colleges and universities. Amongst this list includes Allegheny College, Washington & Jefferson College, Seton Hill, Ohio University, Spelman College, Berea College, Wheeling University, Coppin State University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and others. Collectively, they were awarded $500,000 in scholarship funds and three students received Bonner Scholarships to attend Allegheny College, fully covering their college expenses. Excitingly, TNA also produced a NCAA Athlete for the first time in the sport of track and field at Wheeling University!
Your belief in and commitment to educating our students is the reason they have achieved these successes and become accomplished, young citizens. Your support has prepared them to attend high quality colleges and universities where they will continue to thrive and grow. We could not accomplish this feat without your ongoing support.
I know these are challenging times for everyone, but please consider making a gift to sustain and support our school, which will be doubled through the generosity of the Jack Buncher Foundation. Together, we will continue to provide the necessary foundation for our students to flourish, achieve success, and truly break the cycle of poverty that has held them captive for so long.
Sincerely,
Dr. Anthony P. Williams
