TIMPERLEY AMATEUR BOXING CLUB CHARITY (Reg: 1175662)

We are a community boxing gym on the Broomwood estate in Timperley, Greater Manchester.

Timperley Community Amateur Boxing Club was established 2011 and serves the residents of Broomwood Estate and the wider area of Timperley. It also attracts members from Altrincham and neighbouring Wythenshawe.

The gym offers a much needed positive environment for young people in the area, providing a safe space where they are encouraged to develop their physical and interpersonal skills, as well as building their confidence and self-esteem.

Our ethos has always been about improving lives in the community, both physically and mentally, and our dedicated volunteer coaches provide boxing classes for people from all backgrounds, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion or physical ability.

As our club has grown, we have achieved a number of successes along the way. We have been nominated for Trafford Sports Club of the Year in 2015 and one of our young members won a Physical Activity award in that same year.

The club has proven to be a great success and, due to the popularity of the club and our rapidly growing membership, we have now outgrown our current facility within the Broomwood Community Centre. Our vision is to build a new, larger gym, alongside the existing Community Centre. In addition to providing much-needed space for our club, this new building will also provide sufficient space to hold other fitness-related activities such as yoga, pilates etc. We are currently working to a build completion date around Summer 2019.

Current projections estimate that the construction costs for this project will be around £400,000. Though any funds we raise in excess of this would be used to purchase new gym equipment and be invested in the upkeep and maintenance of the club.

To help us realise our goal, we have managed to secure £350,000 in funding, thanks to the generous support from Trafford Housing Trust, Sport England and Maverick Stars Trust.

But this still leaves a shortfall of around £50,000 to get the project over the line.

Our amazing little club already has already had such a positive impact. Now, with your support, we can continue to build on our successes and together we can create something truly special that will have a lasting impact on our youngsters and members and the wider community for generations to come.
