Working through the winter to get ready for 2021

The Civic Pride Rossendale volunteers will continue working through the winter, picking litter and looking after all the gardens we maintain. We want to keep on top of everything over the winter so that next year the gardens will be extra special.

Civic Pride (Rossendale) volunteers work tirelessly to remove litter, educate youngsters about its dangers and restore and maintain community gardens including the banking opposite ASDA. To maintain the hanging and barrier baskets alone costs over £4000 per year. Please help us do even more.

Story

In March 2020 Civic Pride Rossendale had stared to get the gardens that we maintain in Rawtenstall, Crawshawbooth and Waterfoot ready to show off all the spring bulbs we planted the previous autumn. Then, as we all know, everything ground to a halt and we were not able to look after our gardens for several months. The volunteers have worked hard since July, and in line with the Government restrictions, to recover the gardens from the weeds and litter. And we will carry on over the winter so that next year all our gardens will look extra special. We are purchasing and planting perennials now so that they will be more quickly established next year. Of course, we will also continue to weed, prune, tidy the leaves and plant bulbs. Please support us - any donation big or small will enable us to continue to bring colour to the towns and villages in Rossendale.
