It's tough for the LGBTQ+ community right now. Hate crimes are on the rise, with 40,000 cases reported in 2024 alone. Our Trans and Non Binary siblings rights are under attack, and we're facing a wave of anti EDI sentiment.

Funding has become a bigger challenge for LGBTQ+ charities in the last 12 months, so we're looking for new ways to secure funding to help us keep Scarborough Pride Thriving & Free for the whole community.

Our aim at Scarborough Pride is simple, to drive up inclusion, drive down discrimination, and to provide the community with safe and friendly opportunities to connect.

We're also really keen to extend our support year round, to ensure that we can:

- Conduct outreach projects with local schools and businesses to raise awareness and education of LGBTQ+ identities and challenges

- Provide more opportunities to connect throughout the year, offering meetings, workshops, and further networking schemes
