The Wave Project are excited to announce our first Inclusive Surfathon! This is the first event of its kind in England and allows us to continue to ensure that the ocean is accessible for everyone.
Our Wave Project Team and Adaptive Lead, Ian, have been on a mission to help as many people as possible enjoy the benefits of surfing. As the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year’s Unsung Hero for the South West, Ian is full of enthusiasm to keep raising funds for Adaptive surfing.
This event has been set-up to involve Adaptive surfers and non-disabled surfers; coming together for a Surfathon. This is a celebration of how far The Wave Project has come and how communities can work together.
Croyde has seen the ripples of Adaptive surfing grow, with new Wave Project hubs now set-up across the country. The Surfathon will showcase the equipment; from styles of adaptive boards to bespoke wetsuits. We hope to raise vital funds, awareness and make sure there plenty of fun for all!
