As we know, it is often those who are vulnerable that can be worst affected. The Salvation Army has been and is continuing to respond to those affected by COVID-19 around the world, with responses by our local Salvation Army partners in Africa, South America, South and East Asia.
As the pandemic continues and changes, so does how we respond, continuing to work with individuals, families and communities by supporting the most vulnerable, raising awareness of COVID-19 and what can be done to protect families and to equip schools allowing children to return to school safely.
The Salvation Army's international response, currently focuses on;
a) Specific assistance to homeless or other vulnerable people affected by Covid-19, and/ or those who are quarantined or under lockdown measures or who have become unemployed due to Covid-19
b) Food support to families under quarantine/ lockdown measures or families with loss of employment due to Covid-19
c) Community awareness and prevention/ hygiene promotion
d) Equipping relevant Salvation Army hospitals and clinics that are in the front line of the pandemic
e) Equipping schools and residential settings (homes, special needs schools) to allow children to safely return to their education
