The therapy animals in the Animal Assisted Intervention Team (part of the Play Specialists Team 0299) do such great work at University Hospital Southampton, where these friendly creatures spend a lot of their time bringing smiles to children, their parents and even the staff!

When patients are nervously awaiting medical treatments like blood tests, and x-rays they provide a much needed distraction which calms them down, allowing our dedicated nursing staff to carry out the procedures.
