Story
All children deserve the best chance in life but it can be challenging for those born with special needs to get the help they need.
The Peter Pan Centre provides weekly bespoke specialist play therapy sessions. These sessions help children to grow and develop, from building confidence to socialising, and from taking steps unaided to gaining communication skills.
Each of our children has different needs and abilities and is encouraged at every stage by our caring and dedicated team of specialist practitioners. Too often, disabled children are labelled by everything they can't do, At Peter Pan, we celebrate everything they CAN do. As one of our parents recently said, 'at the Peter Pan Centre, disabled children are not just a set of targets. They get to be children, just like any other child.'
The Peter Pan Centre are here for the whole family, Providing respite, training courses, advocacy, social activities, stay-and-play sessions and emotional support to parent carers. By helping families at the start of their special needs journey, which most are unprepared for, the Centre ensures they not only survive, but thrive.
Without Peter Pan, I would have been overwhelmed but thanks to their care, sensitivity, patience and skill, when it was time for my son to go to school, I didn't want us to leave - Catherine, parent to Peter Pan graduate Eddie
