Will you become Homeless, too?

The following facts are very concerning:

According to Shelter (UK), more than 8 million workers (35%) in the UK are just one paycheck away from losing their home, while families with children are in the most precarious situation of all. Overall, 3.9 million British families may be just one paycheck away from losing their family home.

According to the UK government’s official statistics in 2021/22, approximately 14.4 million people are living in poverty.

According to the World Bank, “hiking prices (due to high inflation) lead to loss of purchasing power of households and food insecurity,” which puts more individuals and families at risk of becoming homeless if not directly in the streets. Around 1.6 billion people reside in extremely poor housing with around 15 million people being forcibly evicted each year

Our Proposal that Needs Your Support: THE Great Sleepout

FreedomX and Homeless Entrepreneur (HE) will be raising £10,000 for “THE Great Sleepout” to sponsor 10 individuals' trip to Davos in January 2024, so we can give the more than 150 million people experiencing homelessness a voice, presence, and opportunity to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2024. The funds will cover travel expenses, which are approximately £1,000 per person (round trip flight to Zurich from around the world and the train from Zurich to “Davos Dorf” (as well as food expenses), which is a shoestring budget considering the fact that the cheapest room costs 3,000€ per night during this annual event.

FreedomX and Homeless Entrepreneur (HE) will be at the World Economic Forum, Davos, from January 15th - January 19th, 2024 to rough sleep to raise awareness for the millions of homeless people and to give a voice to those in need. We will also highlight the opportunity for the WEF stakeholders at Davos to collaborate with 5 Homeless Entrepreneurs, who will represent the millions of motivated individuals lacking resources, who are willing and able to participate in society, so they can become part of the solution to ending their own state of homelessness.

We will also be rough sleeping in London during World Homeless Day on October 10th, 2023.

We also want to empower you to do the same on these days. Whether it’s rough sleeping in your garden, street, local car park, or local park - it doesn’t matter. Whatever works for you. Join us in our sleepout wherever you are and share your experience online while using the following hashtag #THEgreatSleepout!

So come and join us to raise awareness and raise money for the homeless. Be homeless for a night to help support those who are homeless.

Out of the 10 people invited to participate in this inspirational journey, 7 will have experienced homelessness (Marco Robinson and Andrew Funk), 5 will be in the process of being empowered out of homelessness and poverty via H.E’s HELP program and 3 will be community supporters i.e. an international businessman, a political commentator, and a pianist.

“THE Great Sleepout” originates from Homeless Entrepreneur’s annual WEF sleepout, which started in 2018.

We will select 5 homeless individuals from different countries, who speak English and at least one other language, which will help us get our message out to the maximum amount of WEF stakeholders between January 15th - 19th 2024. The Homeless Entrepreneurs will also provide their services to the WEF guests i.e. chef and snowboarding classes.

Your contribution will ensure that “THE Great Sleepout” sparks the minds and hearts of the 2,700 guests who will be attending and the millions of citizens supporting us from around the world.
