Skye Camanachd SCIO has launched a fundraising drive to gather funds to erect a stand at their Pairc nan Laoch home in memory of one of their most prominent figures, Donnie Martin.

Shinty and Skye Camanachd played a major role in Donnie’s life for over 50 years. It’s a path which began when he started off playing for Portree High School in the early 1970s and he was Skye Camanachd Chieftain at the time of his untimely passing in May 2022. Donnie occupied almost every position within the club in-between times.

Donnie’s ambition was always that Skye Camanachd could build a main stand to accompany their ambitious Skye Camanachd Clubhouse building at its Pairc nan Laoch, pitch in Portree and a group of fundraisers have got together to ensure this comes to fruition.

The Pairc nan Laoch facility is used by all age-groups and, if you are able, you can help by making a donation. Please remember to use the “gift aid” option if you are a tax player as it significantly adds to the pot with no extra cost to you.
