Story

The Dorset Children's Foundation run a range of inclusive events for disabled children and their familys such as family fun days, craft afternoons, all ability discos, soft play and sensory sessions, music therapy, swimming, cricket and yoga to name but a few. We have also set up our very own FA affiliated Football Team DCFFC!

Community is very important to The Dorset Children's Foundation. As well as funding equipment and medical expenses we want to help our families overcome isolation, increase their childs self-esteem and enable them to play a larger part in the society around them.

We want to provide the opportunity for our families to get together in a safe and inclusive environment where our children can just be kids without judgement or disapproval. Siblings and parents are encouraged to get involved so the whole family can get out and enjoy being amongst friends.

There is a lack of provision in the wider community for fun and sporting opportunities for disabled children. We are striving to change this.

Being the parent/carer of a disabled child can be a very lonely and isolating experience. Parents increasingly lose confidence to take their children out and take part in simple activities that other families may take for granted.

How you can help

We are looking for help to fund these events and provide opportunities for disabled children that they currently may not have access to.

What your money could buy:

£60 for a bike ride on a specialist adapted bike for 10 children

£65 pays for a visit from a play specialist for those with profound physical and learning disabilities

£100 pays for a stay and play group for 30 preschool children with special

needs

£250 2 hour session for 150 people at indoor skate park

£500 is enough to sponsor a fully accessible speedboat trip for up to 11 people

£3000 pays for 10 families to attend a residential outdoor adventure weekend

As always, 100% of every donation will go directly to the cause, in this case supporting an event.

We are even happy to brand the event with a company logo, if applicable, and invite you to come and see the happiness your donation has made. If you would like to become involved in making life a bit better for our children please donate what you can.
