Story
For decades, conservation corps around the country, including the LA Conservation Corps, have repeatedly stepped up to support our communities in times of crisis and be of service to our neighbors. Clearly, we are in one of those times, and I have never been prouder of our team than I have been in the past few weeks. Their commitment, flexibility, and support of one another is inspiring.
Will you make a gift today to ensure Corpsmembers who are already vulnerable to homelessness, food insecurity, financial instability, and much more are not forgotten in the days to come?
The LA Conservation Corps has been a backbone to me and I appreciate it in so many ways because there are not a lot of organizations that help the way they do. LA Corps will not fail you unless you fail yourself. - Alexis, Corpsmember
The safety and security of our Corpsmembers as always is our top priority. Along with that comes the responsibility of continuing to provide the life changing services that we have promised each of them including paid work experience and support services.
Thank you for being here for our Corpsmembers and give today!
Campaign Wrap Up 6/8/20
We would like to thank all 31 supporters who participated in our first peer-to-peer campaign. This was a success for us and we enjoyed getting to know new supporters to The Corps. Our Corpsmembers are still answering the call providing urban cleaning services, wild fire prevention services, and tree maintenance across Los Angeles city and county.
Still looking to give to our hard-working Corpsmembers? That's not a problem. You can visit our donation page here. You still have a chance to make a lasting impact to our Corpsmembers and help create new job opportunities for our youth.
Campaign Update 5/18/2020
As we move into the next phase of this shared experience together, the Corps will continue to support emergency response projects across Los Angeles and support economic recovery in our role as a leader in environmental workforce development.
We sat down with Brandon this past week and he shared with us his experience working during this time and what emergency projects for the community mean to him.
Campaign Update 5/11/2020
As unemployment continues to rise, more young people are looking to the Corps for paid work experience and for support in these challenging times. Just as our Corpsmembers are answering the call to serve the community, we will answer the call to make room for more young people in need of a place to thrive.
Last week, we hosted our first ever virtual orientation and on-boarding session for 10 new Corpsmembers eager to get to work helping the community and planning for their future. These new recruits will jump right into the vital work we are doing in response to the current crisis as well as be able to join our crews in working on meaningful long-term projects with our city, county, and state partners to continue to improve the environmental health and quality of life for all Angelenos. Give today to support employment opportunities for young adults.
