The Cookout provides an innovative catering training programme for young people in prison combined with producing nutritious meals for those most in need in the local community.

The Cookout gives young people in prison an opportunity to build skills and gain employment in hospitality upon release, whilst giving back to the local community. Our aim is to help reduce reoffending and to help vulnerable people in our local community.

The Cookout is an initiative coordinated by The Right Course (Registered Charity No. 1190520) at HMP/YOI Isis in partnership with the prison, NOVUS, Food Behind Bars, KERB and Hawksmoor. We are grateful to all our partners and supporters who are enabling this project to impact on the lives of our learners as well as the communities who receive our food. Funds donated to support The Cookout are used to cover equipment, ingredients and operational costs to deliver our community meals and to support learners into work upon release.
