Cherry Hinton Hub has been built in response to a need for community facilities within the ward of Cherry Hinton in Cambridge, UK. The lack of public meeting space had been identified in research and was keenly felt by residents who campaigned for many years for a meeting place and cafe.
The new building includes a branch library, a community cafe, 2 meeting rooms, a 1-to-1 room and a terrace garden. It has been designed as an adaptable meeting space that is also able to offer large scale events. Altogether, it provides an invaluable resource for the local community
The cafe (named 'The Cherry Branch' by residents), the meeting rooms and the garden are managed by Cherry Hinton Community Benefit Society (CHCBS). We are a small, but determined, local Co-operative, formed for the purpose of managing the hub on behalf of the whole community. CHCBS is a charitable organisation and all of our income goes towards running our services for commuity benefit. We rely on the invaluable support of our donors.
The library service is run separately by Cambridgeshire Libraries.
All donations, large and small make a huge difference to our ability to keep our services open. Please help!
We welcome all forms of support, as well as interest in our work. If you would like to get in touch, please go to the Contact page on our website or email: hello@cherryhintonhub.org.
