By supporting your Liverpool University Hospitals every penny you raise will be invested into lifesaving equipment and will help to improve the lives of patients within Merseyside and the North West.
How your fundraising helps ...
Here's Ali Guest superintendent radiographer who cares for breast cancer patients every day, talking about how R Charity fundraising positively impacts her work. I'm based at the static breast screening unit at Broadgreen Hospital. My role involves managing the day to day radio-graphic screening activity.
We often have busy clinics with many anxious patients waiting for a mammogram. Sometimes these screenings arent routine, for example if you're a wheelchair user you may not be able to stand to have a mammogram.
Thanks to R Charity fundraising, we were given a specially designed mammography positioning chair which we can transfer wheelchair users to. The chair allows us to manoeuvre patients in front of the mammography machine, support them physically and get into the correct position for a quality mammogram. This wouldn't have been possible without people choosing to fundraising for the hospital.
