Help Bring New Light to Gist Theatre!
Cal Poly Humboldt Giving Day 2025 · 2 April 2025 ·
Gist Theatre is a cherished space at Cal Poly Humboldt. Offering an intimate 112-seat venue, it supports the smaller cast productions of the Theatre Arts Program and student-produced productions. However, the current light board was purchased for that space in the 1990s and has outlived its reliability. It works intermittently, making it difficult for students to fully explore the technical side of theatre production. A functioning light board is critical for creating dynamic, professional-quality productions and ensuring students gain hands-on experience in lighting design, stage management, and production.
This coming year, we plan to produce the classical play “Antigone” and a student-written, produced, and directed original play. These productions provide students invaluable opportunities to develop their acting, directing, and technical theatre skills in the real world. But to bring these stories to life, we need your help!
Your support will help to replace the aging light board, ensuring that Theatre Arts students continue to learn, create, and shine on and off the stage. Every gift brings us closer to illuminating the next generation of theatre professionals.
