Story
The Way Ahead Project is a local charity, serving the homeless and vulnerably housed community in Leamington Spa and South Warwickshire for over twenty years. We work with rough sleepers, sofa surfers and anyone who struggles to keep their own home.
We offer practical advice and long-term support that helps address the underlying causes of homelessness so that some of the most vulnerable members of our society can escape the cycles of poverty, addiction, mental illness and destructive relationships. Although we are part of The Salvation Army, the people we help are of all faiths and none. All monies raised in aid of the Way Ahead Project are spent locally.
We have kept our doors open throughout the pandemic. We have provided food in lunch bags, takeaway containers, emergency parcels and, more recently, at our pop-up café. We have engaged with those who need us - on doorsteps, over the phone, at our front door and on a one-to-one basis in our office - so that trusted relationships have been maintained and problems sorted before they spiral out of control.
We have been a listening ear, friendly face and helping hand just when we were needed the most.
The Way Ahead Project has given me hope they believed in me with encouragement and support.
Now, as we look forward to being able to reopen our drop-in facilities later this year, we need the continued support of kind-hearted people just like you. All monies raised through this page will be used to help local people turn their lives around.
