THE Monthly Global Citizenship Challenge: Mt Teide
What are you doing this month to make a difference!?
Do you have a cause of great interest to you? Would you like to do something about it?
The Fair Earth Foundation CIO, a registered UK charity, runs in the first week of every month a special challenge to climb Mt Teide, the third highest volcano in the world. This is a gruelling, arduous challenge but the view at night of the stars and the breaking dawn over the magnificent crater make it consistently the single best experience of our volunteers in Tenerife over the last thirty years- thousands have taken up the challenge!!
The Monthly Global Citizenship Challenge is organised FREE of Charge. We provide airport transfers, accommodation, food and guides, and provide all logistics. You just need to get a flight down to Tenerife. All we ask is that you set yourself a minimum fund-raising target for your cause of at least £250. You can chose your own cause, which we will add to our list of great projects worthy of support, or you can select from one already on our list. Check out the community projects around the world on: https://www.fairearthfoundation.org/global-citizenship.html By adding your project to this list, others can support it as well.
Every month we invite a team supporting a particular project to join the Monthly Global Citizenship Challenge. In October it will be the British Exploration Society, an affiliate organisation offering life time adventures to inspire young people and promoting environmental and community knowledge and awareness including fair trade in the process.
Spaces are limited! If you want to reserve a space either for yourself or for a team effort inOctober or later, (they are monthly), then please contact Laura, at enterprise@fairearthfoundation.org She co-ordinates these challenges and has information on the logistics and requirements- physical and material- including our health and safety materials.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime. What are you doing this month to make a difference!
"It definitely is a challenge! The climb starts easy but gets harder and harder-like levelling up on a game! Not only do you have to be determined and have a positive attitude but you must push yourself physically and mentally! However, you feel a sense of real achievement and the view is just stunning! My camera battery is exhausted, just like me.
Climbing Teide was one of the hardest and most rewarding things I have ever done. I was sceptical of climbing it at first but I am so glad that I did! The walk itself is not too hard, however it really shows you how good your mental health is. I climbed it with some amazing people who gave me a lot of support to push through. I would recommend the experience to anyone.
