One year on from the horrific attack by Hamas on Israel on 7 October 2023, the war in Gaza, Lebanon and other parts of the region is causing devastating humanitarian need, destroying lives across the Middle East.

The suffering across the region is escalating daily

More than 42,000 people have been killed, hundreds captured, and countless injured. People who have survived these devastating events are now facing the horror of malnutrition and disease.

Homes have been reduced to rubble; classrooms and hospitals, a dusty wreckage – forcing more than 90% of the population in Gaza to flee their homes.

In Lebanon, airstrikes have killed thousands and displaced more than a million people, putting further strain on extremely limited resources.

Tearfund is working as part of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), along with other leading UK aid charities, to launch this emergency appeal.

We’re currently working with local churches and partners across the Middle East.

In Gaza, International Health Partners is providing life-saving medicine and desperately needed healthcare.

In Lebanon, we’re working through local churches to provide food, mattresses and other essentials to people forced from their homes by the fighting.

In the West Bank, we’re working with the Diocese of Jerusalem, who are providing healthcare and education to those affected.
