Story

Join Team St Oswald's in 2023 for the most famous half-marathon in the world!

We're a charitable hospice rooted in the North East of England. We provide outstanding, specialist and expert care to adults and children with life-limiting conditions. We make the most of life and are a welcoming place; we strive to provide quality time for everyone.

Supporting you all the way!

Whether you are a seasoned pro or a first time Great North Runner, our team will support you all the way!

As a member of St Oswald's Hospice team, you will receive:

- A fundraising pack, full of ideas and tips to help you reach your fundraising goal.

- A free #TeamStOswalds running vest

- Regular newsletters with training tips, information about training sessions, news and updates.

- An invitation to the brilliant St Oswald's Hospice tent after the run, where there will be access to massage tables, refreshments, and the warmest and wholehearted of welcomes from our fantastic volunteers!

- Access to our dedicated runners Facebook Group where you can meet other Team St Oswald's runners and benefit from their advice and support

By purchasing a place to run the Great North Run with St Oswald's you are committing to raise a minimum of £300 towards the work of the Hospice. Our fundraising team can support you all the way in reaching your target.

Every penny you raise will stay here in the North East and will allow us to support patients and their families at what may be the most difficult time of their lives. We hope that running your 13.1 miles will be that little bit easier knowing the difference it will make, and well keep you up to date with stories from the hospice, from those you are supporting.

Good luck! You're doing something incredible for local families and we think you are brilliant.

Team St Oswald's is proudly sponsored by SCS.

Fundraising targets exclude gift aid donations.

Reasons to run with Team St Oswald's

In 2011, my hero of a Nana lost her battle with Motor Neurone disease. At our side every step of the way during her illness were St Oswalds Hospice. Not only were the staff there dedicated to the care and support of my Nana when was an inpatient, from early on in her diagnosis they provided community care, including communication aids when she became more unwell. They supported all of our family through her deterioration and helped her and us navigate her cruel illness.
