We are Team Robokirk, a rookie FTC Robotics team representing The DataKirk, a charity based in Edinburgh. We aim to compete in the First Tech Challenge (FTC), but we need your help to cover costs for hardware, transportation, and accommodation.
Team Robokirk is not just a group of young robotics enthusiasts; we are a passionate team on a mission. Representing The DataKirk, a charity dedicated to closing Scotland’s data divide and empowering ethnic minority communities, we aim to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.
Our journey began with a shared vision of using data, technology and robotics to create lasting change. With no previous experience in the First Tech Challenge (FTC), we started from scratch, driven by determination and the belief that anyone, regardless of background, can excel in the world of STEM.
As a rookie team, we have faced countless challenges, but each obstacle has been an opportunity for growth. Through late nights of brainstorming, designing, and building, we’ve discovered the true power of teamwork and innovation. Every team member brings something unique to the table, from problem-solving skills to creative solutions, and together, we are learning what it means to be resilient and adaptable.
We believe that our participation in the FTC will not only showcase our hard work but also help to bridge the gap in STEM education for underrepresented communities. By competing in this prestigious competition, we’re proving that with the right resources, mentorship, and community support, young people can achieve extraordinary things.
