Story
To all our Mesothelioma UK supporters,
Mesothelioma UK is working flat out to enable our Specialist Nurse Team to support their local NHS hospitals and also through whatever lies ahead, to sustain our Mesothelioma community, provide support, contact and information.
We totally acknowledge the added fear and anxiety the COVID pandemic creates for people living with mesothelioma, their families and the health care teams who care about and for you. The Mesothelioma UK nurses are fully aware they will be needed to help on the NHS font line and will likely not be as available to their patients and colleagues.
The nurses have taken a team approach to ensure Mesothelioma UK is here with, and for you and them, throughout. Whether you are a patient or family member, a support group member or Mesothelioma concerned health care professional, do not ever feel you cannot reach out to us, to talk through your questions, concerns or fears. We will ensure the information line remains open and will have a specialist mesothelioma nurse available throughout. We have heightened our social media presence and will do all we can to keep our UK Mesothelioma community together and talking.
The charitys operational team are all now home working. To help our team spirit and to encourage fitness and activity during these weeks of confinement, the whole team, operational staff, trustees and our nurses, have pledged to walk or run 5000 kilometres over the next 5 weeks. During their allowed, once daily exercise or on treadmills at home team members will record their walk or run and it will be logged and added to an activity thermometer posted on our website and social media.
To help Mesothelioma UK please consider making a donation, no matter how big or small it will motivate the team and show youre with us. Feel free to join us, create your own team of family members or colleagues and make your own distance pledge for the next 5 weeks. Your support would mean so much.
Keep well and safe everyone. Were here for you.
