Visit the charity's profileThe world famous Great North Run is back on September 10th 2023! It's the biggest Half Marathon event in the world, with over 60,000 runners participating in this must-do event. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne, runners pass over the iconic Tyne Bridge (with a flypast by the Red Arrows) and on to the finish line some 13.1 miles later in the coastal town of South Shields. This is one of the few UK running events to be shown on the BBC, and so gives us an amazing opportunity to highlight our services and the support we can offer.
The coming year marks a major milestone for the M.A. as it is our 40th anniversary. In many ways, its a landmark we wish we hadnt reached because that would mean people werent still enduring the heartache of pregnancy loss. Sadly, the reality is that we will never be able to prevent all miscarriages. And as long as people are going through this often very difficult and distressing experience, we want to be here for them, as we have been for hundreds of thousands of people over the last four decades.
The majority of the M.A's income comes from public donations and fundraising activities, money raised by people who have been through pregnancy loss themselves or care about someone who has, and who want to help others in a similar situation. Your sponsorship will help will help us to provide support and information to anyone who is affected by miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or molar pregnancy. It will support our work with health professionals and researchers to improve care and information, and it will also help us raise public awareness of the facts and feelings of pregnancy loss and of the Miscarriage Association as a source of help.
Thank you for your support.
