Story

Support our two causes by running the (postponed 2020) March 2022 Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon

#TeamCardiff funds raised for cancer research go to the Future Leaders in Cancer Research initiative. This supports carefully targeted career development of exceptional young cancer researchers, including outstanding laboratory scientists and clinical trial specialists. This support for the next generation of researchers will accelerate the development of new, more effective treatment, resulting in improved survival rates and quality of life for people with cancer, now and in the future.

#TeamCardiff funds raised for neuroscience and mental health research go to the Future Leaders in Neuroscience and Mental Health initiative. This offers seed corn funding to our broad range of researchers enabling crucial, unrestricted access to pilot-stage research which form the basis of a larger projects which could unlock far larger grant funding. Its usually necessary to undertake trial research to prove (or disprove) initial hypotheses and this funding allows researchers the opportunity for independence when trialing new theories and discoveries.
