Story

GCS Mission Tanzania 2021

My name is Tony and I serve as the CEO of the Great Commission Society.

Over the last 2 years our organisation has had the opportunity to spread the Gospel and provide evangelism training via video conferencing from district to district across Tanzania. With the help of Pastor Nelson Penford and our GCS partners in Tanzania, we have been training Christians across the region of Mwanza, which is a port city on the shore of Lake Victoria, in northern Tanzania.

From 11 - 25 November 2021, GCS team from the UK and the USA will travel to Tanzania to minister the Gospel to community groups across the region. Our time will be evenly divided between two major rural districts, Ukerewe and Ilemela. While there are a total of 126 languages spoken in Tanzania, most of our talks will be translated into the dominant language of Swahili.

Each day the team will split into smaller groups for the purpose of reaching more people. We will have the opportunity to share the Gospel in scores of secondary schools, maximum security prisons, tribal gatherings (including the following tribes: Kerewe, Mara, Jita, Luri, Kurya, and Sukuma), as well as holding town-wide open-air events where entire communities will be invited. Swahili Bibles, Gospel Tracts will be given out, along with basic humanitarian support. We expect to reach between 5000 to 7000 people each day with the Gospel.

GCS provides the very highest standard of training and mentoring, designed to equip Christians for personal evangelism and discipleship. Our team will provide sound Biblical training to local churches, leaders and facilitators. Please pray for Pastor Nelson Penford and our GCS partners in Tanzania as they prepare for this campaign. Pray that this mission will positively impact spheres of society affected by poverty, witchcraft, radical Islam.

God has given us a vision to equip hundreds, to teach thousands and to reach millions, until the job is done! Now we get to invite you into that vision. If you would like to be a part of what God is doing through GCS, then please support this work. God has done His work. Now it's time for you to do yours!!! We are so excited to partner with you!!!

The mission budget of £11,157 covers flights, transport, accommodation, ministry transport, generators, evangelistic resources and humanitarian aid. If you would like to support this mission please donate through this JustGiving page.
