Talk Now is a trauma informed organisation situated in East Kilbride since 2012 that provides one-to-one counselling to survivors of sexual, domestic, and emotional abuse. Our core ambition is to enable survivors to live their lives to the full and to eliminate the debilitating impact of abuse.
Talk Now has grown considerably since 2012, with the introduction of group work and wellbeing calls to support clients as well as our trauma training programmes and the growing demand of one-to-one therapy which is at the heart of our organisation. Talk Now is a much-needed service and we currently receive referrals from various sources including Psychological Services, GP surgeries, Womens Aid, Glasgow College, Hospitals, Police Scotland and the Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service Anchor. The Bank of Scotland recently included Talk Now as a case study for mental health awareness week.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has only stressed and reinforced the need for our services within the community. We are currently working with over 200 survivors. Consequently, our premises are no longer fit for purpose. For this reason, we are seeking raffle prizes that will enable us to purchase private premises within East Kilbride that can facilitate our growing service. This will provide a safe space for survivors to come, process and heal from the trauma theyve endured and reclaim their lives. Kindly receive this donation request from Talk Now.
