Story

AMYA East Midlands is proud to host this years Syed Taalay Ahmed Charity Shield Tournament as a part of our 2024 charity challenge! Our event is in aid of raising vital funds for two charities: Humanity First UK and YMCA Leicestershire.

Why Humanity First?

HF is a charity close to Taalay and his family. They are at the forefront of serving disaster struck and socially disadvantaged individuals and families in the poorer communities of the world. Recently they have been doing amazing humanitarian work in war torn Palestine and Ukraine alongside other initiatives across the third world. We wish to raise funds to support their on going efforts. See more of what they do here: https://hfuk.org/

Why YMCA?

Upon hearing about Taalay and our charity challenge, through their affiliation with LCFC, they have been kind enough to help us arrange top class facilities for this year's tournament: Leicester City Youth Academy Training Ground. More importantly, they do excellent work in Leicestershire, being the leading youth homelessness charity, working alongside some of the most vulnerable people in our Leicestershire community to help them grow. They believe every young person deserves a safe place to call home and have programmes to support the need to create lasting change in their lives. Currently they are supporting 109 young people who have suffered with homelessness and are helping them get themselves back on their feet. See more of what they do here: https://ymcaleics.org.uk/
