Story
MAP are proud to be launching our #Together2Palestine virtual event to help support Palestinian health and dignity and raise vital funds for MAP.
We want you to help us take a virtual journey from the UK to Palestine. Each person who takes on the challenge will cover part of the distance, whether that be counting your steps around your own home, using your daily dog walk to rack up some miles or using an exercise bike in your bedroom!
Our aim is to collectively cover a whopping distance of 2,190 miles (3,524km), and we want to complete the challenge by World Refugee Day on the Saturday, 20 June 2020. There are no restrictions - you can Walk, Run, Swim, Cycle or whatever you like... It's up to you! Just help us collectively cover the distance from the UK to Palestine and raise money along the way to support Palestinians who need our help.
To get involved you just need to set yourself a personal distance target to complete between now and the 20 June, and click the 'Start Fundraising' button at the top of this page and select 'choose your own challenge' to personalise your target. Remember to then share your story and ask people to sponsor you, and encourage your friends and family to get involved!
Don't forget to post photos and videos of your journey on social media and your JustGiving page, tagging #Together2Palestine.
You can also join our #Together2Palestine club on Strava to start tracking your distance, or alternatively you can use any other app, or just update us each week on your distance by posting updates on your fundraising page or by emailing us at fundraising@map-uk.org. We'll also be sharing regular updates on our social media about our progress - we'd love to share your stories too!
This is an event to symbolise unity and solidarity even when we cannot physically get together, and we want everyone everywhere to feel they can get involved and join us on this journey #Together2Palestine.
Please also keep in mind the current Government restrictions when setting yourself a target - your safety is our top concern, so please do familiarise yourself with the guidelines on staying safe and taking precautions related to Coronavirus.
Thank you and good luck!
