In July 2026, the 28th Glasgow Scouts are setting off for the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in Switzerland. It’s been a number of years since the 28th have traveled abroad or hosted an international experience, and we’re excited to bring back these opportunities for our young people.
This trip promises to be an amazing experience. The Scouts will take part in a variety of activities, including exploring the stunning surroundings, engaging in international games, and embarking on off-site adventures.
Our visit coincides with the 1st of August, a special day that marks both the Swiss National Day and the anniversary of the first-ever Scout camp. KISC hosts a day full of celebrations, including an International BBQ in the evening. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet other Scouts and experience Swiss traditions firsthand.
We’ll also visit Oeschinensee, a beautiful mountain lake just a short cable car ride from camp. The Scouts will take in the breathtaking views and enjoy the Alpine Coaster for a bit of adventure.
Other activities include:
Rafting and high ropes in Interlaken.
An Explorer/Network Hike to the Ueschinen Hut, perched at 1,890m above sea level. Scouts will cook dinner, spend the night, and hike back down the next day.
Exploring Kandersteg, a charming mountain town well-prepared to welcome Scouts from around the world. The town offers plenty to explore and a range of activities to keep our group engaged.
We’re working hard to raise funds to make this trip accessible for everyone. Your support will help reduce the cost of the expedition, cover once-in-a-lifetime activities, and ensure we have the necessary kit for a safe and successful adventure.
By supporting our campaign, you’re helping to give our Scouts the chance to experience the true spirit of international Scouting, build their confidence, and create lifelong memories.
Thank you for your support!
