Story
Our intrepid fundraisers will be stretching their (water) wings and Swimming a Mile for MS this MS awareness week.
Swimming is an excellent form of exercise for everyone but it is often one that people living with MS, or other neurological conditions, stop attempting. They stop for many reasons but one we hear again and again at the Centre is that so many pools aren't reliably accessible.
This is why we are very fortunate to have Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre supporting Swim for MS as, not only, have they offered all who take part in Swim for MS access to the swimming pool for free, their building and the pool are fully and reliably accessible. There is also a pool side hoist available at all times.
Whilst the short term aim for Swim for MS is to raise funds that will help the Centre provide the therapies and support our members need the long term goal is that this challenge will show our members what they can achieve and that swimming is still a viable form of exercise for them and, hopefully, one they will continue to enjoy for many years to come.
